FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is my data private?+

Yes. Your journal entries and Apple Health data are stored on your device, and synced only through your own private iCloud if you enable it. Nothing is sent to us during normal use.

When does my data leave the device?+

Only when you tap “Generate summary.” At that moment the app compiles a text prompt from your recent entries and health metrics and sends it over an encrypted connection to generate your briefing. It is processed transiently and never sold.

Do I need an account?+

No. There is no sign-up, login, or email required. Your credit balance is tied to an anonymous device identifier, not to your identity.

How much does it cost?+

$3.99 to download, with no subscription. Your first AI briefing is free; after that, briefings use credit packs ($1.99 for 3, $4.99 for 10).

Why are AI briefings metered with credits?+

Each briefing is generated by a large language model on our server, which has a real per-request cost. Credits cover that. Everything else in the app — journaling, Apple Health, insights, PDF export — is unlimited.

What Apple Health data does it read?+

Read-only: sleep, heart rate variability, heart rate, activity, mindfulness, hydration, time in daylight, and optionally menstrual cycle. The app never writes data back to Health.

Is this medical advice?+

No. ADHD Journal is a personal wellness and journaling tool, not a medical device. AI briefings summarize your own entries to help you prepare for conversations with your healthcare provider. Always consult a professional.

Which devices are supported?+

iPhone on iOS 16 or later. An iPad and desktop companion may follow.

How do I get it?+

It's currently in TestFlight beta. Join from the button on this site; a public App Store release is coming.
